The most affordable way to try out 5 discs is within the mystery box. This box comes with 5 discs at an unbeatable price. These discs will vary between brands and molds. Despite the variation of molds, this set will include a putter, one or two midrange discs, and two or three different driver types.
Among the discs there is a variety of speed and stability. To keep the price low, they all come in a base plastic. Which is perfect to help you or your friends learn disc golf and what you like, all the while learning different disc flight characteristics.

I'm very pleased with my mystery box. I've only been playing for a couple of months so it was great to get a wide variety of discs including a distance driver that I can grow into.
For a non-beginner disc golfer, only one of the discs I received was usable, and even the one usable disc was lightweight. The other four were either horrible quality plastic, severely understable, or both.
Before you dismiss this review thinking I’m just an off axis torque guy- the discs were:
doomsday bleak (baseline plastic, chunks will come out if you hit a cage, tree, ground, etc)
midrange I can’t remember because I threw it twice and gave it away (the softest plastic I have ever felt, already flippy and warped immediately)
basilisk (most understable driver I have ever thrown out of the box, a children’s disc)
Prodigy ace line f model s (stiff and slippery, chinese plastic)
i blend emperor (167g, usable as an understable distance driver for my arm speed)
